The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) announced weekly honors for men’s and women’s basketball with Chris Martin and Corianna Evans earning Player of the Week for their remarkable performances to open the season.

Chris Martin opened the season with a career-high 41-point performance to take down West Florida 74-57. The Charlotte native shot 50 percent from the field (8-16), 50 percent from three-point range (4-8), and 21-of-22 from the charity stripe in the win.

Martin also logged his second game this season with 37 or more points after dropping 37 in a 121-116 double-overtime win over Montevallo on Friday (Nov. 17)

Corriana Evans posted a game-high 13 points, leading CAU to a 57-48 victory over Florida Tech to open the season. She followed that performance with 21 points in the win against Saint Leo University, marking her 10th consecutive game scoring in double figures, a streak that traces back to the previous season.
